DropJaw Ventures Group, the award-winning Chester based specialist business advisory firm, is taking a stake in The Urban Technology Group, as part of its ongoing vision of providing access to capital and advisory services to technology and professional services companies looking to scale.

The Urban Technology Group – also based in Chester – delivers bespoke CRM and ERP software solutions, consulting, planning and technology management services.

DropJaw Ventures Managing Partner Roy Shelton says he’s delighted to be working with The Urban Technology Group, and: “Given the need to store and access huge amounts of data in order to allow for more informed decision making, along with workflow efficiency improvements, I feel Urban is well placed for significant growth.”

The Urban Technology Group aims to help companies and organisations – mostly small to medium enterprises – across diverse sectors run their businesses with greater clarity and efficiency through better process and workflows.

With intuitive consultancy and strategic planning, innovative and fit for purpose software, data-led design and technology management, Urban Technology helps organisations of all sizes put everything in one place.

Lou Crane, CEO at The Urban Technology Group, says Roy and DropJaw Ventures have already become a big part of her company during lockdown.

She says: “At the end of last year, I started looking for people to invest in my company. I didn’t want just the money, I wanted to find someone who wanted to invest in me and my vision for the company. And then I met Roy, who ticked all the boxes.”

Roy felt The Urban Technology Group’s offerings were a good integration into DropJaw’s growing portfolio of high growth tech and services companies.

Lou adds: “We have a lot of bespoke work which we’re carrying out for customers and we’re transitioning to the next phase now. We work with ambitious business leaders to bring more control to their business and to create more efficiencies, to give them a central point of truth for all their data.”

That ambition for growth will be rapidly fuelled by the DropJaw Ventures Group’ involvement in future Urban Technology Group business.
